June 21st is Go Skateboarding Day. Since its start in 2004, GSD has served as a simple, global excuse to drop whatever you're doing, get out of the house, and push around with friends. There are no entry fees, no strict schedules, and no scoreboards, just a shared appreciation for skateboarding and the community around it.
For this year’s GSD, we wanted to keep things simple. We loaded up some cold drinks, grabbed a portable grill, and met up with a bunch of friends for a casual afternoon session. We spent a few hours skating, landing a few tricks, and catching up over some burgers.
Instead of calling it a day when the sun started going down, we caught the Belgium vs. Iran World Cup group-stage match together. While the game itself ended in a quiet 0-0 tie, watching it with a room full of tired friends was a great way to wind down.
Thanks to everyone who showed up, grabbed a burger, and skated with us. We’ll definitely be doing a few more of these park sessions as the summer goes on.
